Ken Hooper of Blue Mound, Illinois, recently purchased a project vehicle. It's a stretched Jeep body on a 1980 K20 4x4 chassis. Ken said, "this vehicle has been driven on the road for many years, but it's also been a very dependable mud truck and still runs and drives great." Currently, the vehicle is undergoing an overhaul, the engine and transmission are still in great working order and will not be replaced. JASPER's technical support helped determine that the vehicle's transmission is a Turbo 400, remanufactured by Jasper Engines & Transmissions back in 1989. The Air and Fuel Department of Jasper Engines & Transmissions has moved to a new location within the Wernsing Road remanufacturing facility.
Sales of air and fuel components has steadily increased, and JASPER believes it could be one of the company’s top departments in the next five to ten years. In preparation for this overall Diesel Division growth, JASPER recently completed a 12,000 square foot expansion project at the Wernsing Road facility.

Nearly 160 members of the Willys-Overland-Knight Registry (WOKR) held their 56th Annual International Meet-up in Jasper, Indiana. During their June 20-23 visit, many of the members took time to tour JASPER's Wernsing Road and Power Drive facilities.
The WOKR was established to bring together people interested in the preservation of vehicles powered by "seeve-valve" engines, or the related family of Willys-Overland vehicles from 1903 to 1942. Nameplates included: Willys, Overland, Whippet, Stearns, Marion and other vehicles powered by a Knight sleeve-valve engine.
